The weather is warming up and air conditioning is becoming popular again. If you are like me, you might cringe a little when you switch your thermostat from heat to A/C for the first time this year. I always fear this is the year my aging system goes kaput. While there is inevitably some unavoidable issue that will eventually get your system there are a few simple things you can do yourself to increase the lifetime of your unit and keep it running as efficiently as possible.
If you live or work in an area with high humidity, consider supplementing your unit with a small dehumidifier. Larger commercial systems may have this capability built in so no additional unit would be required in that case. This can allow you to increase overall comfort and even save money if you pair it with adjustments to your thermostat.
